Aggression Replacement Training
October 2 and 19, 2018 & March 5, 2019; 8:30AM-3:00PM
This event is for active Oakland County Public Schools Educators and PSA's only.
Aggression Replacement Training is a comprehensive, research-based, proven-effective approach for working with challenging youth, having applicability for students in elementary through high school levels. Aggression Replacement Training features three coordinated and integrated components within the curriculum:
**Social Skills Training—Teaches participants what to do, helping them replace antisocial behaviors with positive alternatives.
**Anger Control—Teaches participants what not to do, helping them respond to anger in a nonaggressive manner and rethink anger-provoking situations.
**Moral Reasoning—Helps raise participants' level of fairness, justice, and concern for the needs and rights of others.
Training takes place across three days. Participants experiment with and practice relevant components between training dates. Upon completing the training participants will be able to implement ART in their home districts. By performing additional learning tasks that the instructor will discuss, participants may seek certification in ART.
