Here's what's happening at school this week.
Assembly
March is Reading Month
Our theme for March is the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing. The March Reading Calendar was sent home last week, but you can download the one below if you didn't get one.
Special days this week:
Thursday- No Screen Night
Friday- Read a Hat Day.
English
We finished reading the novel A Long Walk to Water. This week, we will learn about themes in literature. Students will write a paper about a theme in A Long Walk to Water. Theme papers will be due Monday, March 18.
We will have our usual grammar/vocabulary quiz on Friday as well.
Enrichment Writing
Math
Last week, students continued working with algebraic expressions. This week, students will finish chapter 7. They will take their test on Wednesday/Thursday. Students will finish the week working with equations(Chapter 8). Homework due tomorrow: page 393(2-8)/page394(1-6), page 399(2-4)/page 400(1-6), page 405(2-11)/page 406(1-6).
Enrichment Math
Last week, students continue to learn about slope. This week, they will continue to work with slope and learn about slope intercept form (y=mx + b).
Social Studies
Science
We will finish up Law of Superposition on Monday. Students have a Plate Tectonics Test this Friday. They received their review sheets last Friday. We will spend the rest of the week filling these out and reviewing for the test on Friday. Review sheets are due Friday 3-15-19 before they take the test.
