The Leaguer
Junior League of Peoria
Our women are the force that makes change happen.
The work we do, the leadership we provide is life changing to individual members and our community. Our voice is an opportunity to own that position.

COVID-19 Update
The COVID-19 situation around the world is evolving at a fast pace. Through working remotely, social distancing and our cancelled Frolic with the Fairies fundraiser, our mission at JLP remains strong.
We've compiled our community efforts during this crisis online and will continue to contribute to this list during this period. Together, we got this.
Please continue to set the example for our community and we look forward to seeing your faces again soon!
Strategic Plan Survey
The Governance Board is working to define the League's metrics for each aspect of our strategic plan. This will help us measure the outcomes of our actions and efforts.
At the 2019 September GMM, we completed a survey to help benchmark the beginning of the year metrics on JLP's historic and current accomplishments. At the May GMM, we retook the survey to assess the progress we've made in educating and sharing information to our members and sustainers.
If you completed the survey at the GMM, please DO NOT retake the survey so we have accurate results recorded.
Take the survey here.
Thank you for your commitment!
SAVE THE DATE for the Little Black Dress Initiative 2020
Through this initiative Junior League of Peoria members and the community come together to increase awareness on food insecurity in our area. LBDI Advocates will wear the same black dress for five consecutive days to illustrate the effects poverty can have on a person’s access to resources, confidence, and professional opportunities.
Be ready to join us August 31st through September 4th!
Stay tuned to this page and our social media to learn more about this year’s goal.
Annual Giving Campaign
We hear it a lot: Donate to JLP’s Annual Giving Campaign! But why does it matter?
Here’s the official reason: The Annual Giving Campaign is key to helping Junior League of Peoria meet our ongoing commitment to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
Like all nonprofits, our budget revenues – Frolic with the Fairies, Little Black Dress Initiative, sponsorships, JLP member dues – are not enough to cover our entire budget. That’s where we turn to Annual Giving, with a goal of 100 percent participation from our membership.
We all give our time and talent to JLP. Your donation of as little as $10 to the Annual Giving Campaign will move us toward our 2020-21 goals.
Each donation to the Annual Giving Campaign means that you:
- Support community engagement through programs like Kids in the Kitchen
- Enable JLP to recruit and retain talented members
- Offer training and leadership development opportunities
- Provide essential support for operations
- Commit to the future of our organization
WAYS TO GIVE
- Write a check to Junior League of Peoria, indicating “Annual Giving” in the memo, and mail to headquarters
- Donate online
- Pay by credit card by calling Headquarters, Gwen Sutter or Laura Presley
- Ask your employer to match your donation to JLP’s Annual Giving Campaign
Sow to Grow Garden Volunteers Needed
JLP is looking for volunteers to help with the Sow to Grow Garden, formerly the Glendale Commons Community Garden.
Phoenix Community Development Services has scheduled a work day for May 30th. There are two 1.5 hour shifts: 8:30 - 10AM and 10:30AM - 12PM.
Tasks include filling raised beds with soil, planting seeds and starter plants, and weeding.
Record Your Volunteer Points
The work we have done in the Peoria community could not be done without you. It's important to record your JLP volunteer and meeting hours. The data collected from this form can be used in many ways, such as allowing us to apply for much needed grants, boost our community presence, who might be a good fit for a leadership position, and enables us to track trends.
Review and record your volunteer points before the May GMM!
