Romeo and Juliet act 2 summaries

Act 2. Scene 1.

After the party ends, Romeo can't stop thinking about Juliet, so he ditches Mercutio and Benvolio and heads back to the Capulet house. Mercutio and Benvolio try to find Romeo after the party. They assume that Romeo is going to find Rosaline. Afterwards, they crack a lot of dirty jokes at Romeo's expense. Mercutio is offended that Romeo left them.

Act 2. Scene 2.

The scene starts with Romeo watching Juliet, who is standing on a balcony. As he observes her, he compares her to the sun. Romeo listens to Juliet confess her love to him. After he hears her confession, he reveals himself to her and confesses his love. The two promise to marry one another.

Act 2. Scene 3.

Scene 3.
Romeo didn't come home one night and Mercutio and Benvolio found out. They thought he was with Rosaline so they were making fun of him. Mercutio and Benvolio were arguing and Romeo was supposed to fight someone, but they said he was weakened by love . The nurse meets with Romeo and they talk. He told her to make sure that Juliet is at confession and that is when they will get married .

Act 2. Scene 4.

Juliet waited three hours for the nurse to tell her what Romeo said. It was supposed to only take thirty minutes. When the nurse finally shows up she acts like shes too tired and sore to tell her.

Act 2. Scene 5.

Romeo and Friar Lawrence waited for Juliet to come to the church to get married. Romeo doesn't are about what people think about him getting married to Juliet. He just wants to live for the now. Juliet gets there and she speaks words of love to Romeo. She expresses to him how much she cares about him. After she is done talking, Friar Lawrence marries them.
