A School to Emulate

Memorial Elementary Bobcat Bulletin 12-7 through 12-11-15

MAP Continued!

We continue our MOY MAP testing this week. I know you will monitor well and encourage our students to do their very best thinking. I am excited to see the growth our students will make. Leadership team, please be sure to add MOY scores to the Google doc in the Campus Leadership folder.

Students will experience an Hour of Coding this week during their library classes. Feel free to stop by and check it out if you are able.

As you are planning for the remainder of the month, please keep in mind the activities on the last Friday (12/18) prior to winter break. We will have winter parties, the C & C assembly, and an early release day.

Saturday school will begin in January. The dates are on the site calendar. Student invitations will go out prior to winter break. The leadership team will talk more about the process this week and more information will come.

This is a reminder that there will be no Bobcat Visioning meetings this month. Sara and I are working on a survey we would like you complete prior to winter break so that we may use your feedback to adjust the meetings upon our return in January. In the meantime please continue to think about the topics we have already discussed during our meetings. One major action item is the student goal setting and tracking sheet that each grade level created.

I have noticed all of the new student work displays coming up around the building. Keep it up! They look GREAT!

This is a reminder that "unknown" district personnel will enter the building using doors other than the main entrance. They will see how much of the building they can access before being addressed by staff and escorted to the main office. We got this!

Thanks everyone and let's have a wonderful week back!

That's HILARIOUS! Send your funnies my way...

During guided reading a kinder class was looking at a book about planet Earth. The teacher said, "We live on planet Earth." A student responded, "No I don't! I live in Texas!"

Kudos

Beverlea & Anna for creating our wonderful ELD Reader's Theater lessons. Charles for growing our Cub Scouts to 62 active members. This is the largest in the district! Angel, Christy, Deanna, Jessica B., Crystal, Jessica H., Mia, Charles, Anna, Heather & Sara for making 5th grade camp a success for our students.
