Thinking & Responding to Texts in New Ways
Sofia's Response:
I think one important detail is that whenever Kek shares his thoughts on something he sees or does, he uses a simile to connect it to something. For example, when he says it is hard to walk through the snow he compares it to wading up a river with rain.
Also, when Kek talks so thoughtfully and deep about the cow, I think it is because in his country, cows a are a sacred animal. But he says the cow is all beat up. That doesn’t even affect how he feels about it. He notices the small details about things around him, like the cow’s eyes and the purpose of things like the mirror and seat belt.
I think this matters because it shows more about who Kek is as a person and what he has been through.
