Newsletter Week 10 Term 1

Newsletter 10 - 7 April 2021

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed the Easter break, the weather wasn’t too bad at all over this time.

Last week Ange Thrupp’s Tangi was over at Pūkeko Marae in Poroporo. It was a moving tangi with a huge number of whānau and friends there to support the Thrupp whanau. Thank you for the cards, messages and koha you left for the Thrupp whānau. I handed these to Leighton while I was over there and he was very appreciative of the support. Please keep Leighton and his whānau in your prayers.

Confirmation and First Holy Communion was postponed for a number of children in February because of COVID, but the great news is that this is all going to happen this Sunday at the 10.00am Mass. We wish the children God’s blessings as they receive these wonderful sacraments.

Congratulations to : Ariana Cordero, Ryan Peters, Caleb Finnerty, Joshua Finnerty Jesse Riini Oliver Smith, Liebling Rounds, Eryn Espinosa, Anna Luisa Lopez, Anna Lopez, Olivia Martin, Wirinia Thrupp, Te Haeta Thrupp, Andrew Antony, Teresa Wang, Connor Orbel, Alvin Biju, Hannah Jomi, Lennox Portland, Junior Doel, Nina Lopez, Caleb Naynes, Axiom de Lena, Emily Tane, Carlos Camacho, Cheska Flores, Richard Zhan,g Frances Rounds, Liebling Rounds, Albercht Layug, Sebastian Macdonald, Hugh Milligan, Tamba Kortequee, Tasiana Peato, Lika Peato, Josh Laserna and Rory Tapsell.

The start of Term 2 is not too far away, and at this time children need to be in winter uniform. It's a good time now to check that you have the uniform items your child/ren need ready for the new term. The uniform shop is open Wednesdays 2.30pm to 3pm and Friday 8.30am to 9am. Remember you can also purchase uniforms via our website and school app. Please don't leave it until the last minute if you need to collect items this term. We hope you will encourage your child to wear the correct school uniform, with pride. Please name all uniform items.

Have a great week everyone.

Ngā mihi

Inspiring messages:

Your faith is more powerful than your fear. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”-John 14:27.

This world will give us so many unknowns—whether that’s career-wise, health-wise, status-wise, or even where you call home. There are moments you can’t plan for, whether that has to do with your loved ones, your decisions, or how moments play out around you. In those moments you can fold, you can be anxious, you can live with regret or fear, or you can trust God.

Let your faith in the Father be bigger than any fear. Even when times are tough, even when you’re unsure where to go, even when you’re filled with doubt, know that God has a plan. Know that God isn’t just going to leave you in the dust. This world might not always make sense, and your prayers might not be answered in the way you hope, but that doesn’t mean He’s ignoring you. Perhaps an unanswered prayer is a blessing you never know you needed. Perhaps a closed door is an opened one down the road. Perhaps the pain you’re feeling is a powerful lesson in strength. Perhaps you simply need a reminder that you serve an all-powerful God.
