Student Spotlight-Amazing 5th Graders
Nelly Carr: Nelly is always trying her best in class, and works hard to stay on top of her assignments. She is kind to her classmates, and helps her teacher and peers often! Way to go Nelly!
Eli Lowry-Sims: Eli is an excellent classroom helper, often taking care of classroom chores without having to be asked. He's also been working hard to set and meet classroom reading goals and has met and exceeded those goals. Keep up the good work, Eli!
Olin Wilson: Olin is deserving of the spotlight because he wastes no time when preparing for a lesson and works with precision and accuracy when completing his assignments. Olin participates in every group and class discussion and takes excellent care of his personal belongings and classroom supplies. Well done Olin!

Beat the Principal and Staff! September 24th at 11:00am
ALICE Lessons Continue-Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate-Off-Site Evacuation Drill
We take our work keeping students safe very seriously and will continue to practice with the students as the year goes on.
In addition, as a staff we discuss different emergency situations/scenarios and the best ways to keep students safe.
At Pearl Creek we also have a Crisis Management Team that meets and talks about the different aspects of a crisis and delineates roles for all staff members.
As a parent feel free to talk with your child about being aware of sights and sounds that seem out of the ordinary and if they see something to say something to an adult.
It our hope, with your help, to prepare students for any emergency.

The first 10 kids to beat her will get a prize. All the proceeds go to the Pearl Creek PTA and help us to further our mission. Just $15 per person and you can sign up online https://app.memberhub.gives/beattheprincipal or in person on race day (please arrive at 10:30 to register). If you don’t want to run, we REALLY could use your help with road crossings and water stations. Visit our sign up genius to volunteer. Thank you!
I know it seems a little early to think about this but Halloween is just around the corner. We will be looking for volunteers to help with the Halloween Extravaganza at the end of October. Please contact us at ptapearlcreek@gmail.com to find out more details.

We wanted to take a moment and recognize our Pearl Creek Puffin runners, we are so proud of you! What a fast group of runners we have!
Just a reminder this Tuesday we will have practice and Thursday is our race day!
This Thursday our last race is at Chena Elementary. Parking is very limited so come early! If for some reason families have trouble finding the Pearl Creek sign or area all that students need is a label with their name, grade and boy/girl marked (and if students don't have labels they can still run, no problem). We will have labels available at Tuesday's practice if you think you will be cutting it close to the race start!

Nutritional Services-Changes from Last School Year
Due to federal funding for the School Lunch Program, we have previously been able to offer meals to all students in the district at no charge. That funding has ended and we are returning to our previous requirements for students to receive free and reduced meals. If you would like your child to continue receiving free and reduced meals, please complete the 2022-23 meals application form and see if your family qualifies.
NEW!!! Our online breakfast & lunch menu provider has changed. We now have everything you need at https://www.schoolcafe.com . No account is needed.
You can view the menus as a guest!School meals are a great value and huge convenience for busy families. Full elementary price breakfast is $2.00 and lunch is $3.50. Middle and high school price breakfast is $2.25 and lunch is $3.75. If your child qualifies to receive meals at the reduced price, breakfast is free and lunch is $.40. Free and reduced price meal benefits do not extend to additional milk or milk only purchases or partial meal purchases. All portions of a meal can be purchased by paying the ala carte prices. Milk comes with breakfast and lunch but if your child purchases additional milk with his/her meal or one to drink with his/her lunch from home, the cost is $.1.00. Visit https://www.schoolcafe.com to make payments, view the menus, and see what your child purchases.
If your child received free or reduced price meal eligibility last school year as the result of a completed 21-22 meals application and were enrolled on the last day of school, the grace period will expire on September 28, 2022. On October 1, 2022, students receiving meal benefits due to the grace period will revert to full pay status. You have the convenience of completing the application online at https://www.schoolcafe.com or you can get a paper application from your child’s school. Submit a completed meals application for the 2022-2023 school year as soon as possible as it can take up to ten (10) days for application processing.
