Student Spotlight!
Principal's Message
The Power Of Discovery
This week, our Hays High School students learned about the power of discovery. Meaning, discovering things about yourself that you didn't know. Maybe it is something that others see and you don’t see in yourself. As we learned about the power of discovery, we challenged our students to reflect and discuss these items:
- Think of a time when you were deeply inspired.
If you could spend one day studying anything you wanted, what would you study?
Think of something that represents you, like a type of flower, a song, or an animal. Why does it represent you?
Five years from now, three people-a mentor, a classmate, and a friend-describe you. What would you want them to say about you?
I encourage you to discuss these items with your student, it is all part of the idea of “Starting with the end in mind”. This skill takes practice for all of us; often we get caught up in the here and now and we forget there is and end goal to our thoughts and actions.
Please know we are here to help and if you need anything please don't hesitate to reach out to us at (512) 268-2911.
Thank you,
David R. Pierce

Celebrating MLK Jr.
Each year on the third Monday of January we observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and reflect on the work that still needs to be done for racial equality. This January 17, make the holiday more than just a day off and take time to reflect and take action on civil rights issues across the globe. Read more about this National Holiday here.
