Information about Open Enrollment...

SHBP Employee Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment will begin October 16, 2016 thru November 3, 2017.

The annual open enrollment period will be October 16 through November 3, 2017. During this time, benefit eligible employees will be able to make changes to their current benefits. Benefit Counselors from Houze and Associates will be on site during open enrollment to assist employees. Benefit packets will be delivered to each location between October 10 and 11, 2017.

Preparation is key to a successful open enrollment.

The following steps are necessary before October 16, 2017:

  1. Employees with State Health Medical Insurance must reset their password through ADP BEFORE October 16, 2017. Employees who want to add State Health Medical Insurance must register on the ADP portal and create a User Name and Password prior to October 16, 2017. Benefit Counselors will not be able to assist with password resets or the creation of an ADP account.
  2. Once the State Health Medical Insurance password has been reset, employees should verify covered dependents on their health insurance plan. Names and social security numbers must match the social security administration's records. Dependents should be listed with their full legal name. The State will often request dependent verification documents during the summer. If dependents are not verified, they will be dropped from the plan.

Each location has at least one point of contact to assist employees with password changes or account registration for the medical health insurance.

Once open enrollment is open, you may choose to visit a Benefits Counselor even if you do not have benefits. This is necessary in order to update beneficiary information on the life insurance policy provided by the system.

More information concerning benefits will be in the benefit packets delivered between October 10 & 11, 2017. If you have questions concerning your benefits after reviewing the benefits packet, please contact the benefits office or plan to meet with a Benefits Counselor on site. The State Health Benefit Plan Member Services office is also available Monday through Saturday 8:30 AM - 5 PM EST. Contact information for the State Health Benefit Plan is listed on the attachment.

Note: Many of you have the MedCare Complete Plan. MedCare Complete is not a part of this open enrollment. The Medcare Complete open enrollment will occur next spring. Information will be emailed in the spring concerning MedCare Complete.
