News from Park View Elementary School: September 17, 2021
A note from Principal Mate
Park View families,
Today all students in 1st through 5th grades will bring home the results from the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment. MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to your child's level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude towards testing.
Keep in mind that these results are a representation of your child's performance on a given day and are just one piece of information for understanding them as a learner. To have a complete picture of your children's academic growth, it is important to consider your child's performance in class in conjunction with these scores.
Also, I want to give a huge thank you to the PTC and all of the volunteers who helped make our back-to-school picnic such a success. I had a great time watching the magician and seeing the students have fun with the games. September 23 is the first PTC meeting of the year. Our next PTC event is movie night on October 1. We hope to see you at both of these events.
Have a wonderful weekend!
~Mrs. Kristie Mate

Parents should check students for COVID-19 symptoms at home
Families must check their children’s health each day and keep them home if they have COVID-19 symptoms. Students should not be sent to school if they are positive for COVID-19, have COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who is COVID-19 positive. Families can use this chart (https://bit.ly/3jyrv3y) as a starting point when determining whether your student needs to be quarantined or isolated. School nurses or your doctor can help answer questions.
The district reviews any positive case with the health department for signs of spread or outbreak within a school. Families would be notified if the health department recommended any attendance change for all or part of the school. The latest COVID-19 information will continue to be posted at www.ccsd89.org/COVID
Use district’s new site to get technology help
Families that need support for iPad or Chromebook issues should use the district’s new online help system. Enter your contact information and some details about the problem at: https://bit.ly/89techsupport
