Training for LIFE
Tips, Tricks and Links for Post Secondary Transition
It is finally done!!! Get Ready to Drive!
We were working overtime to get our first TRAINING FOR LIFE product ready for publication and sale and then the pandemic hit. It is now finished and ready for sale. At this time, it is only available by emailing Patricia Kauffman at patricia.kauffman@mccesc.org. We are working on a website and other marketing materials, but the pandemic put those plans were stalled, ugh.
But now it is finished and ready to go!
Get Ready to Drive!
The Get Ready to Drive! kit has everything you need to teach the prep course, including:
- Course manual
- USB drive with presentations for each module and printable files for tests, data collection, and handouts
- Pre & Post-course tests and module tests
- Data Collection forms
- Student handouts
- 285 high-quality simulation cards & flashcards
- 36 road tiles
- Signs & traffic lights that connect to the road tiles
- Various small vehicles
- Driving Consequences gameboard & pieces
The course was initially designed for students with various disabilities but is appropriate for all students that learn best with hands-on materials. Let's face it, that driver's manual is not really engaging reading material! Why not make it fun.

Full color Manual A USB drive containing all the presentations in Powerpoint and PDF versions, data collection sheets, and pre/post tests is included with the kit. | Road tiles and signs Students are given situations, and they practice moving through these situations by driving the vehicles on the road tiles. | Presentations Presentations in both PDF and Powerpoint versions are on the USB drive. These can be presented in a larger group session before moving to the hands-on simulations in a smaller group (1-6 students is ideal). |
