Operation Overlord
D-Day was the day the Allied attacked Normandy Beach on June 6th, 1944. The Allied forces tricked German where they were really attacking and with Hitler in bed and commanders away from their troops, it was the perfect time to attack. Although there was over 78,000 soldiers killed and 472,000 wounded or missing in action, the Allied got the win at Normandy. Later the United States and allies were able to capture ST Lo and eventually Paris and France back from Germany.
