Revolutionary War
Paul Revere, The Boston Massacre, and Militia/Minutemen
Paul Revere
Paul Revere became a silver/goldsmith and became pretty popular from just that. It was the midnight ride and a poem that made his story forever known. Even though Paul Revere is more popular, Israel bissell was said to of rode his horse for 345 miles in just 4 days and 6 hours on April 1775 and shouted "to arms, to arms, the war has begun". Even though Israel Bissell rode many more miles than Paul Revere, he still never became more famous.
Paul revere was still pretty important during the revolutionary war. He watched for the British and warned Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the British were coming to arrest them. He was also in the sons of liberty and the north end caucus

Militia/ Minutemen
Militia/Minutemen
Militia and minutemen were decided to be two different things. Militia were men in arms formed to protect their towns from foreign invasion and ravages of war. Minutemen were highly mobile and able to assemble quickly and were a small hand-picked elite force which were required to be highly mobile and able to assemble quickly.“…but when our men were gone, they sent eleven more at one minute’s warning, with 3 days provision…” was a journal entry from Samuel Thompson, a Massachusetts militia officer.
