Interested in joining chorus or band?
Any 6 or 7 grade student wanting to join band for the first time must pick up a registration form from outside the band room and return it no later than this Friday, January 7. Mr. Smith, the band teacher, is available before school to meet you and answer questions you might have.

"Donut" miss out on the CHORUS FUNDRAISER!
The chorus will once again be selling Krispy Kreme Certificates for only $5 each - what a deal!! Certificates have no expiration date and are redeemable for one dozen original glazed doughnuts from a Krispy Kreme store. Chorus students will take orders from January 28 - February 11 (payment due with orders), and the certificates will arrive by the end of February. Make plans to place your order with a chorus student or Dr. Blackmon (fsblackmon@madison.k12.ga.us). Thanks for your support!

Planning for 9th grade - Attention 8th grade parents and students!
High School Field Trips
8th grade students will visit MCHS on the following days:
House 1300 - January 24
House 1200 - January 27
House 1100 - January 28
Students will take a tour of the school and hear a presentation about high school classes/schedules from the MCHS faculty/staff.
Students MUST return their field tip permission forms in order to go on the trip.
8th Grade Parent High School Information Sessions
Parents are invited to attend one of the information sessions. The same information will be presented at both sessions. Attendance is not required. Students will receive the same information during a scheduled classroom presentation.

Scoliosis Screening
Scoliosis screenings will be done for any 6th and 8th grade student who has not turned in GA Form 4400 (either completed by the medical professional OR the parent/guardian has signed the "Opt-Out" portion). The screenings have been rescheduled for February 3rd for 6th grade and February 10th for 8th grade. Letters will be sent home with those who are incomplete on January 20th. If you do NOT want your child to be screened, please sign the "Opt-Out" section and return to the clinic before the screening date.
