Field Day 2014
Dear Parents,
The long awaited Field Day has arrived. Thursday, May 29, we will spend the day outside enjoying lots of fun activities organized by our PE teachers, Mrs. Engart and Mrs. Williams.
We are asking that parents to send their children with
· Sunscreen
· Hat
· Sneakers (no flip-flaps or clogs!)
· Extra Water Bottle
· Hand Towel
Our annual Barbeque (hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs) will be available for $2.45. Children will also have a choice between Pretzel&Yoghurt or Grahamwich/Jamwich with carrot sticks, raisin, lemonade, chips, milk & juice.
Thank you for preparing our Greek (white) and Roman (blue) eagles for a great day!
Dress Code
With the warm weather approaching, you may want to remind your children that some summer outfits are not appropriate for school. All students are expected to demonstrate acceptable taste in their dress habits. Students are asked to avoid extreme short pants, tops with exposed mid-drifts, and any tee shirts with offensive or tobacco/alcohol-related images. Some hot weather outfits are appropriate for a 5 year-old child but not appropriate for a more mature 12 or 13 year-old student.
The following are guidelines for warm weather apparel for all students.
- All clothes should be clean, near and in good taste.
- Sandals or beach footwear are not appropriate for school.
- Biking shorts are not permitted.
- Halter and crop tops for girls are not permitted.
- Students may not wear destructive clothing or footwear, i.e., rivets, cleats, ornamental belts, etc.
- Indecent and unsavory slogans, expressions, etc. are not to be worn on clothing.
- Any attire the administration considers to interfere with quality of education shall not be permitted.
Adherence to proper dress standards will help to insure an appropriate school image for our students and a learning environment free of unnecessary distraction. Thank you for your cooperation on this issue.

Sixth graders at Doyle Elementary skyped in Mrs. Doyle’s reading classes with retired director of Ocean Affairs for the US State Department, Mr. Arnaudo, to research information for their Ocean Quest public service announcements using cross curricular skills learned from science with Mrs. Cirulli and research with Mrs. McPhee.
Thank You From Our Support Staff
The members of our support staff (EAs, office and kitchen staff, custodians) would like to thank the Doyle community for their generous donations and Mrs. Esser and her "elves" for arranging and delivering the beautiful gift baskets.
