Teacher of the Month - May

Congratulations to Tamra Belt on Teacher of the Month for May!

A big thank you to this teacher who has been a great asset to the English department teaching a variety of preps from English I to English III, mostly leading the English I team and working with our co teachers and SPED department. In addition, she taught Academic Literacy, helping our at-risk readers and ESL students hone their reading skills. We wish Tamra Belt the best of luck in her next journey — retirement!

We are looking forward to celebrating our Seniors as they walk the stage at graduation on Monday, 5/31, at 2 PM. Graduation will take place at the Alamodome this year!

Textbooks Return

Students may begin returning AP textbooks after receiving appropriate blackboard notification. All textbooks can be returned beginning May 20, 2021. Books can be returned before school, during lunch, and after school. Students not clearing books and/or fines may NOT receive transcripts, textbooks, or DIPLOMAS. It is the responsibility of each student to clear his/her textbooks. Books not turned in will be charged to the student. Students must have the book with the proper number.

Technology Return Schedule

We are getting to the end of the year and would like to encourage those who do not need their school issued computer, Chromebook, iPad or hotspot to please return it. Again, this request is only for those students who are not needing their school device any longer. If you are still using the device, please hold on to it until your scheduled return date so your work can be accomplished.

Please fill out the form below and return with the device so we can make sure the device is assessed in a timely manner should there be any charges associated to your student account at Johnson High School. If you want to hold on to your technology, please make sure to follow the Technology Return Schedule below.

Parking Permits for 21-22

Student parking permits for 2021-22 will be sold online again. Information about the process to purchase a parking permit will be emailed to students and parents in early June. Students should check their NEISD student email address for correspondence about the process throughout the summer. For the 2021-2022 school year, we will only be selling parking permits to students who will be seniors and juniors. Senior students will have priority to purchasing a parking permit. Students who purchase a parking permit will be able to pick-up at their Prep Day on August 3rd. Students who have outstanding fines, technology obligations, or parking tickets will not be allowed to purchase a parking permit until those obligations have been cleared.

School Lockers

Students should have all lockers cleaned out by the end of the school day on May 28th. Any unclaimed items remaining in lockers will be placed in lost and found.

Semester Final Exam Schedule

All semester exams must be taken during the day and time scheduled to allow for live proctoring of the exam. Please look at the attached Exam Schedule. There are no Asynchronous semester exams. Asynchronous students who cannot take the exam during the scheduled time will need to make arrangements with the teacher to take it during one of the scheduled make-up times on 5/26-28, so it can be proctored. If a student misses their semester exam they will receive a grade of 1 and have until 6/10/21 to make the exam up in the Johnson HS administration office. Semester exams cannot be taken early.
