NIU Campus Recycling
Spring 2013 News Update
April is Earth Month!
New Labels
All of the "Trash" and "Garbage" labels have been changed to say "Landfill". By doing this, everyone will think more closely about where their waste will end up, which will hopefully influence more recycling and waste minimization! Changing the labels by putting on new stickers was a cost-effective, efficient way of updating our system.
Commingled
All recycling bins are now labeled "Recycle". This is a switch from the old labels that said either "Cans & Bottles Only" or "Paper Only". The labels were changed to advertise the singe-stream recycling system.
New Bins
Brand new recycling bins were added to some administrative buildings. New Hall received all new bins with updated labeling, as all remodeled buildings will receive from now on.
