Places you could visit
- Lake Waccamaw State Park - a unique park with rare plants and endangered animals. It is open year-round.
- Tryon Palace in New Bern - It has the North Carolina History Center. It also has 14 acres of gardens. It was the first permanent capitol of N.C.
- The Lost Colony - an outdoor drama in Manteo. Performances are in the summer.
- Oak Island Lighthouse - in Caswell Beach. It has a series of ships ladders with 131 steps. It was the last lighthouse built in N.C.
