Week of September 8th, 2015
3 day week!
We hope you and your family had a wonderful 4 day break! We are ready to get back to work this week! Progress Reports will be coming home tomorrow (Wednesday). Please note that we have spent the first part of this nine weeks on Social Studies. The Science average on your child's progress report will be lab grades from Ms. Sasser that are included in our overall Science average each nine weeks. Also parents please make sure you are initialing your child's agenda each night and checking in on them with their weekly homework. Hopefully you are aware at this point your child has had weekly homework:) The agenda is also used to document any behavior or missing assignments that might need to be noted. So please use this form of communication to keep in touch with us daily as well. We will finish up AIMS testing this week on Thursday. Coming soon, we hope to nail down an open house for 4th grade. We will let you know ASAP when we schedule this.

Reading- RL.4.1 My Brother Martin Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.
Writing- W.4.4 Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
Grammar- L.4.1f Produce complete sentences, recognizing and correcting inappropriate fragments. L.4.4a Use context as a clue to the meaning of a word or phrase.
Word Study- L.4.4b Use common grade appropriate Greek and Latin affixes and roots as clues to the mearning of a word. pre- "before"
Math Corner-
4.OA.1 Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., 35 is 5 times as many as 7 and 7 times as many as 5.
4.OA.2 Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplication comparison.
Weekly reminders-
*Check their agenda daily and make sure they are completing their weekly homework-assigned Monday, DUE Friday
*On Thursdays, make sure your child is studying and looking over their Math 4 Today, especially any that they had difficulty with. We do 4 boxes a day and check at the beginning of our block.*** The actual weekly quiz is on the back of our daily Math 4 Today. I hope this is helping students study more carefully. They need to be reviewing those problems that they have not mastered.
