Weekly Update #14
Ms Maddison, look at our cool marble tower!
The children were really proud that they made a track on which the marble successfully goes down each ramp level.
Wow! I wonder what you could do so that you don't have to hold it up...
Oh, we can put it up here on top of the shelf.
A Week In Review
We have been busily getting ourselves ready for the holiday; exploring various Gingerbread stories; playing in the snow; and getting ready for our concert!
In our Gingerbread story study, we have read 'The Gingerbread Man', 'The Gingerbread Bear', 'The Gingerbread Girl', and many more. We practiced retelling the parts of the story and we have compared what we have liked about each version. Our daily sign-in question has focused on using Venn Diagrams to choose our favourite between two stories, and we also had to justify why we made our choices.
Please join us for our Kindergarten Holiday Concert on Tuesday December 16th at 2:30pm in the Senior Gym.
This Week's Special Helpers are
Wednesday Aaron, Rebekah Joy, & Quinn
Friday Olivia, Moritz, & Emma
On your child's special day, please send in an artifact that reminds your child of their favourite family tradition. Traditions can be anything: Celebrations, Birthdays, annual camping trips, regular weekend activities, family game night, etc... Please talk to your child about the artifact and the tradition it represents (including any special food, decorations, guests, etc...) so that they can present it to the class.
Happy Birthday to Ava and Tori who are celebrating their birthdays this week!
The kids had a great time taking turns pulling each other on the sleds.
They also used the shovels and 'helped us keep the paths clear'.
We really do go outside everyday... so please don't forget to wear snowpants everyday... maybe even pack an extra pair of socks and mitts just in case.
Runnymede Food Drive
Please make sure your child arrives at school dressed to play outside!
In the next few weeks, we are hoping to start using cotton hand towels at the classroom sink, in an attempt to limit the amount of brown paper towels we use. These towels will be added to our weekly laundry, but the blanket and towels should still only be one load worth.
If you are available to do laundry this week, please email me to let me know.
