Champions of the Month for April
Addie Henry, Music Teacher
Peyton Brown, 4th Grade Student
Marissa Parker, Receptionist
Ms. Parker recently joined the Rancho family (again...you might remember her in PE last year). Marissa stepped in mid-year and hit the ground running! She makes communicating with staff and families a priority. She takes care of our daily needs as a campus with a smile, humor, and grace!
STAAR Required for ALL LHISD Students
TEA and Liberty Hill ISD do not have a STAAR opt-out process for students not to test. All enrolled students, both in-person and remote, will be expected to test on the dates the tests are given at each campus.
Please see the attached letter below from Assistant Superintendent Todd Washburn for more information. The Rancho Elementary STAAR testing dates are listed below as well.
3rd & 4th Grade Remote Student STAAR Prep Night
3rd & 4th Grade Remote Students!!!
We are hosting a remote learner STAAR prep night on Thursday, April 29th from 5:00-5:30 pm. Your child will need to bring their fully charged, LHISD device with them to campus.
Parents are welcome to attend as well. We ask that you limit to one parent per child for safety reasons. Parents are also welcome to drop off their children at the front entrance. Someone will be there to greet them. We will walk them to the front entrance again for pick up at 5:30pm.
We will meet in Mrs. Clopton's room and Ms. Chapman's room, respectively.
This prep night is an opportunity for our third and fourth grade virtual learners to go over the STAAR online platform and learn all the available online tools. We will also walk through testing day procedures, what they should bring, etc.
2020-2021 Yearbooks for Purchase!
I was wondering if you could put this blurb in the newsletter about yearbooks.
WHAT A YEAR! Even with all of the crazy events that happened, there were so many good memories made. Don't miss out on your chance to purchase your copy of the yearbook so your child can look back on the year that changed EVERYTHING! A limited number of yearbooks are still available for sale for $25. Order today at the link below:

April Character Trait- Peace
Peace and Balance
“When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities.” -The Dalai Lama
Finding peace helps us to strike a balance in our lives. It helps in our relationships with others; it helps us see things in a positive light; it helps take the focus off worries and anxieties. Inner peace can be achieved through mindfulness practices. It may not happen overnight, but it can happen. Helping our kiddos learn to do this at an early age is a life skill that will be hugely beneficial.
As always, I thank you for your support!

Bicycle Safety Class
LHISD will be hosting 4 Bicycle Safety Classes for the kids. Students may attend at any campus site. Classes will be held 9am-1pm and the dates will be:
June 12 at Liberty Hill Elementary
June 26 at Santa Rita
July 10 at Bill Burden
July 31st at Rancho Sienna
Students will be in the classroom for about an hour going over basic bicycle laws, hand signals, safety equipment, riding on sidewalks and roads, etc.
Then they will go outside and practice what we learned. Most campuses have stop signs, crosswalks, lanes and such so we won't have to actually go on the road, but can practice everything in the safety of the parking lots. (We will close off the lots to vehicles these days).
Mandatory equipment for participants is a bicycle, helmet, water bottle and tennis shoes.
Save the date!

Junior Deputy Academy
This summer, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a four-day academy that will give young citizens residing in Williamson County the opportunity to see what it is like to be a county deputy and to learn other unique aspects of Williamson County.
Go to the website for more information and to download the registration paperwork.

During the academy, junior cadets (ages 9-14) can expect to participate in activities such as interacting with a K9 and its handler, lifting fingerprints, taking a tour of the jail and the old county courthouse, as well as hands-on experience with tactical equipment and so much more.
