Upcoming:
Dads and Kids Night: Will be Thursday, Feb. 18. A lot of fun and food will be available for everyone. Fazolis will be served and will need a pre-paid reservation by Tuesday. Our STLP will also be helping with booths and food during this event.
Principal Meeting at WES: We will host the elementary principal meeting Thursday, February 18 from 8:00-11:30. As part of this meeting, we will complete walkthroughs in classrooms.
Work Display: The student work in the hallways looks great and shows the high level of expectations you set for your students each day!! Third grade has writing displayed and 5th grade has showcased their social studies work. It’s so important to show student work, and it would be great to have student work displayed for our visitors Thursday.
Safety Meeting: Rescheduled for Wednesday, February 17. If you can’t make it, please let me know.
March Madness: We are not going to have a district Count Me In Week this year. However, we are going to have a March Madness Month!! We will explain more soon with pictures!!
PD: Please read chapter 4 of Structured Teaching (Cooperative Learning) before our staff meeting on Mar. 1. Cooperative Learning is one phase of instruction that we most often see left out but we all know the importance of having students work together. Jimmy Brehm is coming to our March 1 meeting to talk with us about how to incorporate cooperative learning in our lessons through KAGAN strategies. Please go on and make arrangements to stay until at least 4:15 for this staff meeting. This will count for PD.
Spring Fling: We will have the circus theme again this year and will start advertising for this event very soon! Please sign up early for the silent auction baskets and share with parents A LOT. This will give families a lot of time to provide items. Please sign up if you haven’t already.
Power Up Reading Competition: Our kiddos read 48,400 minutes! That’s wonderful. Thank you teachers for supporting the reading incentive. If our school reaches our goal, we will receive a school-wide assembly April 13 at 9:00.
