Dear Warrior Parents,
Happy Halloween! Let me start by saying that I am seeing some major improvements in both quality of work and effort put forth these past few weeks, and I am LOVING IT!!!! The kiddos and I are finally into the groove of things and we are plowing through our curriculum full steam ahead!
Speaking of plowing through, we are quickly approaching the half-way point in the second 9 week grading period and there are quite a few upcoming dates I want to make you aware of. As always, if you should have ANY questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me anytime.
Monday, November 3: Worksheets due (“Cask of Amontillado” Study Guide-ALL/”Cask” Vocabulary Practice-ALL/”Cask” Short Answers Questions – Honors Classes Only)
Extra Credit Assignment will be assigned to those students who would like one. This will be due on Monday, November 17th.
Tuesday, November 4: NO SCHOOL for students!
Thursday, November 6: TEST DAY – Covering “The Raven” “Incident in a Rose Garden” and “Cask of Amontillado.” Part multiple choice, part short answer (complete sentences).
Friday, November 7: ALL late work is due to me by 3p.m. or it will not be accepted. Progress reports go out the following week. Please remind your student to get any and all of their work into me by this date.

Monday, November 10 at 3p.m. and 6 p.m.: I will be hosting an informational meeting/basic training on a couple of the technological resources you can access at home in order to enhance your student’s learning experience. Please bring your own portable electronic device (tablet, laptop, etc). I highly encourage all of my students as well as those parents who would like to attend. This meeting should only take 30-45 minutes.

Monday, November 17: Extra Credit Assignment DUE
Monday, November 24: This is ONLY for class periods 1, 2, 4, 6, & 7. Outside reading project DUE. This counts as a test grade (50% of the overall grade, late entries will only receive half credit).
Wednesday, November 26 – Friday, November 28: NO SCHOOL – HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
Thursday, December 11th: HONORS CLASSES ONLY: Study guides for outside reading DUE by the beginning of class. These must be typed (questions AND answers). This will count as a quiz grade (30% of the overall grade, late entries will only receive half credit).
Friday, December 12 – Thursday, December 18: MIDTERMS. A schedule should be sent out within the next few weeks with more specifics. However, the students already know (and I want to give as many of you a heads up as possible) that the English Midterm is comprehensive and will cover EVERYTHING from BOTH grading periods.
I know that I just plastered your screen with a plethora of information, but these dates will be here sooner than we think and I want to give everyone as much prep time as possible. If any of these dates should change, I will be sure to email you ASAP.
