Kid President’s 25 Reasons To Be Thankful!

LSN Gratitude Project

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it got me thinking: I try to count my blessings every day, but often times I forget to thank those closest to me; people with whom I spend a majority of my time - my colleagues. Won't you practice "gratitude" with me? I'm seeking short, simple stories about how someone at LSN has positively impacted your day, your week, your month; your life. I'm opening this up to anyone at LSN (or a parent of) that would like to participate. I will collect responses for as long as I continue receiving them.

To participate, please type/print your story and email it to me ( or drop it by my office in Guidance. I will keep all of YOUR information anonymous (unless you ask me to include it), but I would love to share your story with the person being thanked. Please be sure to include:

  1. Name (of person being thanked)
  2. Their impact
  3. Your name (optional)

I hope you will join me in this "LSN Gratitude Project"!

*Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter, by the way!!*

The Scholarship MASTER

The cat's outta the bag! The Scholarship MASTER [spreadsheet] has been uploaded to our website and is now LIVE. We are still in the process of adding specific details to several scholarships, but I wanted to share a few pointers with you as you look through the cumbersome google sheet. (Click below to access the MASTER directly.)

After opening the Scholarship MASTER, you can filter and/or search (in "view only mode") for specific keywords. Awesouuumesauuuce!!

To search for a keyword(s):

  • Highlight the entire sheet by clicking on the blank cell at the top left-hand corner of the sheet
  • Press the 'Ctrl' and 'F' key down at the same time
  • Type in any part/word that you feel will yield scholarships you are interested in: "athle", MU, Missouri, Engineering, "econ", etc.

To filter the spreadsheet down so you only have to go through scholarships that match your criteria/requirements:

  • Highlight the entire sheet by clicking on the blank cell at the top left-hand corner of the sheet
  • Navigate to the right, along the tool bar, and click on the drop-down arrow next to the "funnel" (this is the filter button)
  • Choose the first option: "create new filter view"
  • Click on the tiny drop-down next to the column heading you want to sort we'll use GPA, for example)
  • When the box pops up, click "clear"
  • Re-check whichever GPA results are appropriate (if you have a 3.7 you might re-check all the boxes including and below "3.7")
  • Click OK

I hope you find this to be a useful tool! If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact me (Ms. Keltner) in Guidance.
