Message from the Principal
This week the Carlton Home & School Club (CHSC) is sponsoring the Scholastic Bookfair. From May 15 to May 19th, parents and guardians can purchase various books after school in the media center. All purchases at the Book Fair will benefit our school. This is a perfect time to stock up on books you and your child(ren) can enjoy this summer.
On Wednesday, May 17th, the Carlton HSC is hosting Stay and Play. Students can stay after school with a parent/guardian or designated adult, shop for books, and play with others on the playground. (Please remember that everyone is responsible for supervising their children after school.)
On May 17th, the fun never stops. In the evening, families and staff are invited to take a break from cooking dinner and pick up dinner at Mendocino Farms for Chef's Night Out. This is a fundraiser for the Carlton HSC. Please see the flyer below for more details. Thanks for supporting our HSC.
Student Council has organized another Spirit Day this Friday. Students, staff, and family members are encouraged to dress up as someone who inspires you on Friday, May 19th! I can't wait to see everyone's creative outfits. Please know that it is not necessary to purchase a costume. It is great for students to use their imagination to capture the essence of an inspirational person and put together things they find at home to create a costume.
Lastly, on behalf of the staff, I would like to thank all the parents/guardians, students, and the Carlton Home & School Club for all their kindness and acts of gratitude this past week during the Carlton Staff Appreciation Week! The week began with beautiful messages on teachers' doors. The HSC provided a lovely lunch and gifts for the entire staff. Students brought cards, flowers, and gifts throughout the week. Some parents even did yard duty to give teachers an extra break. Thank you very much! Your thoughtfulness truly touched our hearts!
Let's have a great week!

Sharing is Caring: A Hygiene Product Drive to Benefit our San Jose Neighbors in Need
Dear Carlton Community,
From May 8th to May 26th, Caltron Student Council will lead our student community in Sharing is Caring - a hygiene product drive to help our neighbors in need. Carlton’s student council will collect new toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, and soap to donate to Sacred Heart Community Service for our needy neighbors. Please stick to the items listed above, as those are the items of greatest need.
All collected items will be donated to Sacred Heart Community Service. Sacred Heart’s mission is to build a community free from poverty by creating hope, opportunity, and action. They provide essential services, work together to improve lives, organize for justice, and inspire the community to love, serve, and share.
Check out Sacred Heart Community Service’s incredible work through the website below. We hope to see Carlton’s student community pitch in and donate hygiene items to show that sharing is caring!
