The Whitesides Post

Week of October 31 - November 6

Hello Whitesides Families,

Thank you for supporting our Halloween Parade this morning. It was fun to see so many of you there. The students had a great time!

First term ends Monday, October 31st. It's been a great first term. I love being at Whitesides! You have amazing children and I am so fortunate to be here and interact with them on a daily basis. Thank you for entrusting the care of your children to us.

Report cards will be available to view on your myDSD account on Friday, November 4th, after 5:00 p.m.

A huge thanks to our PTA for the FREE Halloween Carnival on Friday and a fun-filled Safety Week of activities. If you have not joined PTA, please consider doing so using this link: https://whitesidespta.memberhub.com/store/items/52174.

Veteran's Day

All local veterans and their families are invited to be honored at a Veterans Day assembly on November 11th at Whitesides. Veterans should arrive at 8:45 a.m. at the back parking lot. Pictures of veterans can be sent to jareeder@dsdmail.net for our slideshow presentation.

Picture Money

If you are still interested in purchasing pictures of your child that were taken last Thursday, we are still taking money until Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, or you can pay online at bellphoto.com using code 22whitesides.

Martin Luther King Jr. Speech Contest

Congratulations to these Wolverines who will go on the District MLK Jr. Speech Contest:

K-2 Category: Katie Copier

3-4 Category: Jo Snyder

5-6 Category: Sydney Lemburg

Lost & Found

Our lost and found is piling up. Please have your child check the lost and found if they are missing any jackets, coats, water bottles, etc. We will donate items that are not claimed on November 11th.

Bond Information

As you cast your votes in the upcoming election, you will notice Davis School District has a bond proposal on the ballot.

If approved by voters, this bond will provide the district with $475 million to improve schools and build new ones over the next five years.

In addition to the major projects (including the construction of two new schools and the rebuilds of Bountiful Elementary and Sunset Jr. High), the district will use bond funding to upgrade security features, heating and cooling systems, flooring, ceilings, playgrounds, classrooms and other needed repairs in schools.

I encourage you to visit the website the district put together about the bond proposal – dsdbond.org. It is a great place to get information.
