A Note From The Principal
Dorr Families,
The holiday season is no doubt a busy time of year. In the hustle and bustle of it all, it is easy to let this magical season pass you by. I encourage you to take a moment and slow down. See the holiday season through your child's eyes. Lose yourself in the merriment and wonder this time brings.
From the Dorr Elementary family, we wish you the happiest of Holidays and a joyous and healthy New Year! We can't wait to see you all in 2023!
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Seniura

Artist Corner
Dorr Elementary has a Distinguished Artist Program in which student artwork is on
display like an art gallery for the school year. Each year 9 students are chosen as a
Distinguished Artist. The distinguished artist is a student who is responsible in art,
shows their creativity and works hard on all projects. Ms. Corcoran chooses 3 to 4
pieces of artwork in which the students followed directions and completed the
project adding their creativity. A committee of staff members then votes on the
projects to choose the winner.
Distinguished Artist - Carson Silcox
Congratulations Carson Silcox!
In art class we did a multi-media project of a snowy penguin.
We painted the background using watercolor. We sprinkled
salt onto the watercolor to create a crystalized effect. Then we
drew a penguin and used oil pastels to add color. We then cut
out the penguin and glued it onto our background. Carson’s
penguin turned out great! Carson always tries his best in art.
He uses his time well and always has a positive attitude. Nice work Carson!

Distinguished Artist - Oliver Jara
Congratulations Oliver Jara!
In Kindergarten class we painted winter trees. We used a piece of
cardboard dipped in paint to create our trees. We then used white
paint to add our snow. Oliver’s trees turned out beautiful! Oliver
always is on task in art. He is always kind to his classmates. Thank you
Oliver for always doing a great job in art!
