Principal's Post
We work to celebrate, especially learning, every day here at Mill Creek, and there is always lots to celebrate! This past week, one of our major celebrations was our 100th day of the 2021-2022 school year (some of our students even dressed up how they envision themselves at age 100 as part of the celebration). That's quite an accomplishment! We cannot believe how quickly 100 days has passed, but we are grateful to have more months of this wonderful school year together. Many thanks to the Mill Creek students, staff, and community for an incredible first 100 as we look forward to many more!
Have a great weekend, Mill Creek!

From the Desk of Mr. Murtha
Last year, I wrote about a series of children's books that are in heavy rotation in the Murtha household. They are the series that began with the book Iggy Peck, Architect and have gone on to include characters such as Rosie Revere, Engineer and Sofia Valdez, Future Prez. The books center around a diverse set of children (e.g. diverse gender, race, ability) and how their specific skills and passions as young people have sparked an interest in each of them towards possible future careers in engineering, politics, and more! The books highlight that we all have different talents and backgrounds and that we can use them to find different pathways to success, satisfaction, and joy in our lives, as well as use our talents and skills to help others. The latest installment in the series is Aaron Slater, Illustrator. It is perfect for Black History Month, as Aaron is a young black boy who, like many of us, faces a significant challenge in his life. He uses his artistic ability, which is a strength, to overcome that challenge, and it is truly a gift. As with the other books in what has become known as "The Questioneers" series, I highly recommend Aaron Slater, Illustrator!
Have a wonderful weekend!
