Congratulations to Ally Cheiken and Maeve McErlean who won the BAL Doubles tournament to become league doubles champions for 2019. They will move on to the district doubles tournament in 2 weeks. As captains of the team they will lead the lady lions in the district team tournament which begins today, at home against Upper Moreland. Good luck girls!

Parents of underclassmen: Your child's school photo will appear in the yearbook. Photos were already taken, but if your child needs a retake or make-up photo, the date is 10/18/19.

PSAT and Senior College and Career Exploration Day
All students, grades 9-11 will be taking either the PSAT 8/9 or the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
Students are encouraged to get a restful sleep and eat a healthy breakfast.
What to bring on testing day: #2 pencils and a calculator.
Senior parents: There is still time to register for the FAFSA completion workshop on October 10th (session 1 is at 8:00 AM and session 2 is at 9:00 AM). Please register with Mrs. Forcina by Tuesday, October 8th. lforcina@lmtsd.org. The list of required items includes: FSA ID (both student and parent), student social security number, driver's license number (optional), alien registration number (if not U.S. citizen), W-2 forms, records of untaxed income received, federal income tax return (1040, 1040A and 1040EZ), current bank statements and records of stocks, bonds, 529 plans and other investments.
The deadline for submission of transcript request forms for seniors with November 1 deadlines is October 18th.

Lower Moreland Music Boosters
During football season, the LMHS Pep Band has been cheering our LM Lions.
You can find out about upcoming concerts and performances for all of our LMHS music ensembles at lmhsmusic.com.
Be sure to ask a LMHS musician about Claire’s Gourmet Fundraiser, too. This fundraiser helps students directly offset the cost of their music trips. Enjoy desserts, pizzas, treats and more. Orders are due by October 25 and delivery will be on November 20.

The next LMHS PTA meeting will be held on Monday, October 14th at 9:15am in the LMHS Library.
Join us at the LMPTA Ice Cream Social. All LMPTA members and their families are invited to join us for FREE ice cream on Wednesday, October 16th from 6-7:30pm in the Pine Road Cafeteria. This is our way of saying "thank you" for all of your support.

Lunch menus are posted on a new interactive website, Nutrislice. Our innovative and interactive site and mobile app make our school menus more convenient and informative than ever before! Download the Nutrislice App from the App Store or get it on Google Play and then search Lower Moreland.

Chef Guy, The Nutrition Group’s Corporate Chef, visited Lower Moreland HS on October 4th to make sushi rolls for the students and faculty. We served California Rolls and Shrimp Tempura Rolls with Seaweed Salad and Miso Soup. The students really enjoyed the sushi and are excited to see what he makes in January!

Join us for homecoming this Saturday at 1:30 PM at Mark V. Mayson Stadium as the Lions take on The George School. Adults $4 Students/Military/Seniors $2. The football team will close out their regular season with games vs.:

Part of the gate receipts at the final three home games will go towards Coaches vs. Cancer.
The regular season for our fall sports is coming to a close in the next few weeks.
Bryce Fazio - Finished in 8th place at the BAL Golf Championships at Makefield Highlands . That finish allowed him to qualify for District I Golf Championships on Monday 10/7.
Congrats to Nikole Lisovvy, who won both the BAL and the District I Singles Tennis Tournaments. Ally Cheiken and Maeve McErlean won the BAL Doubles Championship on 10/5, and earned the #1 seed in the upcoming District I Doubles Tournament. The tennis team open up the District playoffs vs. neighborhood rival Upper Moreland. If they advance, they will face the winner of Gwynedd Mercy and Delco Christian.
Field Hockey currently sits in 3rd place in the District I playoff race. The teams senior night will be on 10/15 vs. Morrisville at 7 PM. The field hockey team also hosted the Murray Avenue FH team on 9/27 for their annual clinic. The event was another huge success as the teams joined together to continue to grow the program.
Girls Soccer currently sits in 4th place in the District I playoffs. The teams senior night will be Thursday 10/10 vs. undefeated Calvary Christian at 7 PM.
Boys Soccer currently sits in 6th place in the District Playoffs. Senior Night for the boys team will be on 10/16 vs. Collegium Charter.
The cross country teams are continuing to make strides in preparation for the BAL Championships on 10/16 at Tyler State Park. From there the team will travel to Lehigh for the District I Championships on Friday 10/25. The girls finished 2nd at the BAL Meet last week which was an improvement of 3 spots from the opening race. The boys have had successful races at Penncrest and William Tennent.
Our Cheer team continues to support our football team and work towards their competition season which will begin in November.
WINTER SPORTS UPDATE: Winter Sports will begin Monday 11/18.
The FamilyID window for NEW ATHLETES ONLY, who wish to participate in winter sports opened on 10/7. This is for any athlete who did not try out for or participate in a fall sport only. Please remember that all physicals, section 6, must be dated after 6/1/2019 or we can not approve them. The FamilyID Winter Re-Certification window will open October 28th. This is for any athlete who tried out or played a fall sport.
