Libby Summer Session News
Week of July 5, 2022
Dear Families,
It's hard to believe, but we are starting Week 3 of our Summer Session! We have gotten to know your students and relationships are so very important to us. It's so great to see smiling faces each morning and hearing students say, "I Love Summer School"!
Our Summer Session is meant to be a fun and engaging way to encourage students to continue learning, reading, writing, and problem solving. The message to our students is "We are so glad you're here!". With fun art projects, and some hands-on activities, we hope your child is connecting to finding a true love of learning and growing. We hope this carries over to the new school year which will be here soon.
Here are some ways to continue the learning at home:
- Ask your child specific questions about their day. "What did you read today?, How did you make this art project?, What is one new thing you learned today in math?
- Visit the library (most libraries also have book stores with low cost books), and check out books to read together and start a Summer Book Club with family members.
- Count the cars while on a road trip. Count the seashells you collect from the beach. For older students, practice multiplication tables together.
- Help your child write a letter to a family member who lives in another city, state, or country.
- Take a break from devices, and spend some face-time together with no interruptions.
Enjoy your family time! Hug your children, tell them how much you love them, and read, read, read!
Sincerely,
Ms. Cuevas
Summer Session Principal
