Progeria is a disease that affects growth and development. This disease affects small children that are newborns.
Characteristics
Symptoms of this disease include loss of eyebrows and eyelashes,dry scaly skin, large head for the size of the face, and narrow and shrunken wrinkled face. The daily life of a Progeria patent is difficult. The patent has to make sure they have small frequent meals, have a lot of fluids, and take their immunizations. The life expectancy of a Progeria patent is 7-30 years.
Cause
The mutation of Progeria is the LMNA Gene. Progeria affects Chromosome One.
Treatment
There are treatments for Progeria. Taking low dose Aspirin is one of them. Also physical and occupational therapy and extraction of primary teeth.
