It is a Great Time to be a Cougar!
If you haven't felt school spirit over the past several weeks, I’m not sure where you have been or what you have been doing! Our wrestlers, our basketball teams, our FFA, our Archery Team, our Pep Band, our students performing at ISSMA, our vocational students competing at Skills USA . . . the list goes on and on.
To me, school spirit is more than cheering for our athletic teams to win. School spirit is the positive attitude that we have about our school day in and day out. School spirit helps bring different groups of students together, staff members from different grades and different subjects together, and unites our school and our community.
School spirit and school pride go hand in hand. When a person is proud of something they speak positively about it; they want to be a part of it; they don’t run it down. There is much to be proud of at Central Noble Jr/Sr High School and we continue to work hard to be the school we want to be. Are you proud of all that is Central Noble? What does bleeding burgundy and white mean to you? Is school spirit and pride evident in what you do and what you say?
When the festivities and events of the past several weeks are over, let’s not forget the spirit we felt or the pride we have in our school. Let’s continue to connect with our school community and take time to show our school pride. Let's continue to come together as one.
Every school experiences its share of challenges, but a "we're-all-in-this-together" spirit can go a long way toward carrying a school community through the highs and lows of a year. As a staff, we may not always agree on the way situations are handled or agree with every decision that is made, but almost everyone can agree that having a culture filled with school spirit makes a huge difference for our students, our staff, our school, and our community. I’m proud to be Cougar - I hope my school spirit shines through in all that I do!
