KICKING OFF 2020 IN FULL STRIDE
Welcome back FBMS families! We hope you enjoyed some quality time with family and friends over holiday break. In light of the upcoming big game this weekend..
Our thought for the day comes from the NE Patriots amazing coach, Bill Belichick: To be successful, you have to go beyond talent; you need character, grit, and a positive attitude. Belichick said, “Talent sets the floor, character sets the ceiling,”
Lets start the year off forging forward, with new goals and aspirations to be the best version of ourselves. #PROUDTOBEFBMS

Pilgrim Area Collaborative titled “Letting Go Slowly”
Letting Go Slowly....
Do you feel you do too much for your child? Do you wish your child were more self-sufficient? Do you find your child resents or resists your help? Often times families struggle to know when to increase expectations for their child’s independence and reduce the support they have always provided. There are no clear instructions to guide parents on this journey. This workshop will provide parents with information about age appropriate expectations and tools to foster self-sufficiency.

A NEW YEAR- SET THE GOAL TO GET TO FBMS ON TIME, EVERYDAY!
Getting to school on time is another habit to build. When parents say it is okay to be late to their children, they're not helping to develop good habits for success. Please help us by getting your child to school by 7:40AM. Be sure technology is shut down before bed time, and help to create a structured night and morning routine that your child can own and implement.
Starting the day late also increases anxiety. Arriving timely anywhere demonstrates responsibility and is a great habit to build now.
We can't do it without you. Let's build good habits that last a lifetime!
Tracking attendance is required by law, and making sure all children receive an education is the responsibility of us all. We would like to see your children at school everyday. Students should be out of school for serious issues only such as illness or bereavement. We cannot teach an empty seat.
The articles below provide some suggestions on how to improve a child's attendance.
