School Closure - COVID 19
First Things First - The entire Neidig team is thinking about each and every member of the Neidig community during this challenging time. Stay safe, stay healthy, and please follow the guidelines set out by our national, state, and local leaders.
Our schools are closed for at least the next two weeks. It is very possible the closure will last longer than two weeks. Time will tell, and the district will send updates via email and our social media accounts to keep you up to date with the plan.
THIS PAGE was set up as an information page related to the closure, and contains a great deal of useful information including Chromebook information, food pick up, a free Internet offer from Comcast, and other Coronavirus updates.
In this newsletter, you will find many resources to assist with your child's at home learning. We want to acknowledge that this is indeed a challenging time. We can and will provide resources for you and your child to access while at home. These links will help students practice their skills and stay engaged in academic content. The hard part is that we also acknowledge the challenges of online learning. Complete online learning is a different mode of learning for our students. This drastic and sudden change in everyone's learning environment does not honor everyone's preferred mode of learning. We are working through these challenges. Thank you for your understanding.
Chromebooks and iPads
Parents and Guardians, please fill out THIS SHORT FORM to acknowledge receipt of this device. As of today, about half of our school population has completed the form. If you did, THANK YOU! If you did not do this yet, please do so at your earliest convenience.
Students in grades 2 - 5 know their login information. (iPads do not have a login.) Students also have their 'Clever' badge, which is a QR code the computer scans to quickly log them into the computer. If by chance your child has difficulty logging in, or his or her Clever badge gets lost or ruined, please email Mr. Godshalk ( sgodshalk@qcsd.org )and he will send you the network login information. Again, students know this login, but in the rare circumstance they are stuck, please email Mr. Godshalk.
Please help ensure that this device is used appropriately. We appreciate your guidance.
QCSD At Home Learning Opportunities - Learning For All
The QCSD Office for Teaching and Learning (OTL) organized the online resources used at each grade level. This is a wonderful resource during the school shut down. Please click the link below to access this link.
Breakfast and Lunch Pick-Up
Students who are eligible to receive free or reduced lunches at school will continue to be eligible for this during the closure. Students on free or reduced lunch will be able to pick up food at no cost on Monday through Friday from 11:30 to 1:00 PM at the Quakertown Community High School, located at 600 Park Ave.
Students will need to enter their I.D. number and be able to name the school they attend. They will be allowed to enter the front door, where they will be greeted by members of Chartwells Food Service. No one, however, will be allowed through the second set of doors and into the building.
Students, or parents of younger students, will be able to get breakfast for the next morning and lunch for that day. Both meals will be cold service, consisting of cereal, sandwiches, muffins, fruit, milk and juice.
If this applies to your student, please take advantage of this program.
