News from Mrs. Faust

September 16, 2016

Greetings

Our class was complimented on morning announcements by Mrs. Fields for being so quiet in the hall on their way to gym this week. I was so proud of them. Mr. Schnepp came in and filmed a short video clip to play on morning announcements about their hall behavior and what led up to this. I am very proud of them. Also, Reece Eberle was chosen as Star Student for using one of the 8 Habits--Putting first things first. Way to go, Reece!

Birthdays

Happy birthday on Monday to Serenity Ault!

What We are Learning

Social Studies: We are currently studying the Southern Region. Students have the opportunity to practice at home the state locations, postal abbreviations, and capitals on Sheppard Software--I have this link on my web page. They have done this at school so they should know what to do. We will take the test next Tuesday. Our next region will be the Western Region.

Writing: Students are working on Narrative Writing. Today we talked about changing the perspective in their story.

Language: Next week we will be doing DOL 3.

Math: In Math we are learning about the relationship between fractions and decimals. We are learning how to say decimals, write the word form, and how to do expanded form.

Science: We will be doing Unit 1 Lesson 3 next week.

Reading; We will be studying the 3rd story in our Journeys book. Our reading skill is compare and contrast. Our vocabulary skill is multiple meaning words.
