Loved ones Missing; World's Destroyed..... "Make Your Move" - Season 1 finale of HUSH
Create your own collaborative web series!
HUSH - by invite only, but find out how to become involved!
#HUSHpodcast, otherwise known as HUSH, is a sci-fi series written, performed and produced by students in grades eight through twelve. It takes an eclectic team of creatives to produce the show which is first broadcast on the radio program Voices in the Valley before being uploaded onto iTunes, Google Play Music and Stitcher. (The podcast has been downloaded over 8000 times since its release in 2017!)
Our goal with HUSH is to provide as professional an experience as possible to students. In addition to developing writing skills, students learn about industry standards and how to work on a creative team. Joining HUSH is by application and audition only. Many students find HUSH Jr - a podcast spin off of HUSH - a good first step. In HUSH Jr, students learn the key elements of writing an audio script, develop dialogue writing skills, and explore all the components of creating a podcast.
Writing Club, Writer's Circle with Anne Greenwood Brown, Sunday Editing Sessions
Middle School Writing Club
High School Writer's Circle with Anne Greenwood Brown
Ever feel like you want to share your writing with other writers and get their feedback? In Writer's Circle, teen writers will meet to do just that - share their writing, give each other feedback and learn from one another. Anne Greenwood Brown, author of LIES BENEATH and GIRL LAST SEEN, will help get the group started with some words of wisdom for writers. Group members will decide on where, when and how often to meet, as well as meeting process.
Sunday Editing Sessions
Aspiring young authors will have the opportunity for one-on-one sessions and personalized feedback to mentor their writing and creative lives. Traci Post brings 10+ years of editing experience, a love of YA, and is a current mentor for the Valley's own Boom Site. Joining her will be Andrew Post, screenwriter and internationally published author of six novels of YA, fantasy, and horror. Editing opportunities take place November 5 and December 3 -- 10:30 to 12:30 at the Shire's classroom space in the Zephyr Studio, 421 S Main Street, Stillwater ($15 per session)
