REMEMBER WHEN WE FLEW POSTCARDS TO SPACE?
Back in May of 2019 our THE Trailblazers had an amazing opportunity to send a postcard into space with Blue Origin. After taking a trip out of the atmosphere, all 350 postcards we sent to Blue Origin were returned to us with a stamp that confirms their travels. “Flown To Space”. We could hardly believe our eyes. What an extraordinary piece of mail to receive!
Then covid hit and we held onto all of those precious postcards to keep them safe while our Trailblazers blazed the trails from home… The time has come to send them home with our now 3-5th graders. We are also including any siblings postcards that have moved onto middle school and mailing those that don’t currently have siblings at THE. Please make sure you check your students backpack so they don’t get lost in the shuffle. Keep dreaming BIG Trailblazers!

MIDDLE SCHOOL INFO FOR 5TH GRADE FAMILIES
Dear 5th Grade Families and New Wolves!
We were excited to see so many of you at our New Wolf Night events last week and for those of you we missed, we are hopeful that our online resources will help you feel prepared to start your middle school journey.
We have recently launched our transition website with lots of information about Mountain View Middle School including; video messages from teachers and students and directions on how to register for electives. If you attended New Wolf Night, much of this information is the same as what you might have seen while you were here, if you weren’t able to attend, this is a great replacement: New Wolf Website
The final step we will take this Spring to prepare for the upcoming school year is signing up for electives. We design our schedule based on student interest and will place your students according to their selection, so this is an important step! Please sit with your student to login and complete the elective selections as soon as possible. Again, all the information you need to do this is on our transition website. If you have any questions while selecting electives, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our counselor, Wendy Lubash at wendy_lubash@sumnersd.org or 253-891-5200.
In August, you will receive additional “Back to School” information that will include a date for another school visit where students will pick up their schedule, tour the building again, get their school picture and pick up your new chromebook.
Thank you for your partnership and please don’t hesitate to contact us here at MMS if there is anything we can do to help make this transition smooth for you and your student.
Sincerely,
Amy Montgomery
Principal
