Last Friday we recognized our Cafeteria staff as a part of Lunch Cafe Superhero Day. Student Council made some amazing decorations and tokens of appreciation to recognize our staff. They did an excellent job as evidenced in the pictures below. We are so thankful for our Cafeteria staff and the fine food they provide for our school each and every day!

Thank you for all of the donations for Education Appreciation! Our committee has an amazing plan to spoil our staff this week. We are providing them with several different meals and treats. If you would like to show extra appreciation to our staff, here are some ideas that coordinate with what our committee has planned.

Tuesday, May 5: Make a card for your teacher.

Thursday, May 7: Make a card for a specials teacher or other staff member.

Friday May 8: Bring in a flower for your teacher or a staff member.

Thank you for helping our staff feel special! -The Education Appreciation Committee

Calling all dads! PTA is looking for some dads to volunteer during Moms and Muffins this Friday, May 8th at 8:30am. In order to give all the moms a chance to enjoy a muffin with their student, we need some help. If you are available please contact David Sparks or Jennifer Heiken.

Fifth Grade Parents, Just a quick detail for Fifth Grade Fun Night this Friday. You may drop off your students at 6:30pm. Just go to the KidsZone door (lower door by the Gym and Cafeteria) and sign your student in. You can come pick them up and sign them out at 8:30pm. It's going to be a great time for all our fifth grade students!

The Language Project's Spanish Clubs have had a great year with LPS students and are looking forward to this summer as well. They would love to have your student join them at one of their summer camps. You may find registration information here.

Bricks 4 Kidz Lego Summer Camps are a blast! The kids learn the basics of STEM without realizing they’re learning. Check out more information about the summer offerings here.

Liberty Juniors is offering a volleyball league for those in 3rd-5th grade. They provide skill training and develop fundamentals, while offering a game-like atmosphere. Those in 3rd-5th grade will meet at LMS twice per week for four weeks from 5:30-7:00pm starting June 1st. The cost is $95 and includes a league t-shirt. A registration form can be found here. If you have any questions feel free to email Erica Bruggemann.

Next fall, the library will be unveiling the Shark Studio - our very own MakerSpace! This is going to be a place we will use during library specials to help us showcase our learning and explore STEAM topics like engineering and computer programming. If you know about MakerSpaces, then you know they require LOTS of supplies. It is not a craft area, but there are definitely times when crafty supplies come in handy during building and construction.

We are seeking donations of: EVERYTHING! Legos, K’Nex, Cardboard tubes (toilet paper and paper towel), yarn, cardboard boxes (cereal, etc.), scissors, glue, random craft items (puff balls, feathers, popsicle sticks), crochet hooks, knitting needles, pipe cleaners, egg cartons. If you can repurpose it, we want it! :) Please send all donations to the library.
