Clean!

  • Wash Hands
  • Wash surface and utensils (after each use)
  • Wash fruits and vegetables (not meat, poultry, or eggs)

Separate!

  • Use separate cutting boards and plates for products (meat,poultry, seafood, and eggs)
  • Keep meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs separate from all other foods (at grocery)
  • Keep meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs separate from all other foods (in fridge)

Cook!

  • Use a food thermometer
  • Keep food hot after cooking (140 or above)
  • Microwave food thoroughly (165 to kill Salmonella)
  • ON a stove cook up to 155 to kill E-Coli

Chill!

  • Refrigerate perishable foods within two hours
  • Never thaw or marinate foods on the counter (fridge, cold running water, or microwave)
  • Know when to throw food out
