Mrs. Turley's Tidbits
Week of 5/22 - 5/26
An Amazing Week...and Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Literacy:
This week we took our final non-fiction summative in 2nd grade! We had a lot of fun with two trade books this week: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain.
Math:
We finished our Real-World Experience! It was designing a garden and putting our garden in array shapes. We also took both fact fluency assessments. Our standard 2.OA.2 - I can fluently add or subtract numbers within 20 had exceptional results! Our standard 2.NBT.5 was a bit harder for 2nd graders although we've been working on it for a long time. It's I can add and subtract within 100 fluently.
Writing Workshop:
We also took our 45 minute opinion assessment this week! This will come home in the report card envelope on the last day of school! All students did AWESOME on this! They sure love to persuade each other!
