The next episode of the family webinar series entitled Mental Health and Resilience is titled Mental Health is a Muscle and will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 6:00-7:15. Sign up to register here.
The webinar description is below:
We all have mental health like we all have physical health – and just like there are things we can do to improve our physical health, there are things we can do to improve our mental health. When we think of mental wellness as a “muscle” we can “workout,” we open the door to a world of possibilities for becoming a healthier and happier you! Participants will learn about the importance of mental health and mental wellness, and the valuable tools we can use to exercise for positive mental well-being.
To learn about future episodes and view past ones, visit the Student and Family Support web page, scroll down to Mental Health and Healthy Living Resources, and expand the Family Webinar Series: Mental Health and Resilience section.

Evelyn Gates ceremony
The Evelyn Gates Award was established to honor a female high school varsity volleyball student-athlete who exhibits the top-tier skill, spirit, and sportsmanship in the Kansas City area. The winner of the award is chosen by area high school coaches. This award is the only one of its kind honoring a female athlete in the states of Kansas and Missouri.
The annual traveling trophy is presented to the student-athlete to display at her school along with a $500 stipend for its athletic department.
Congratulations to Shaye Koski, this year's award winner!!

National PTA’s Reflections
National PTA’s Reflections program helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
Each year, over 300,000 students create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. The theme for the 2022-2023 program year is Show Your Voice! Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. There is a Special Artists Division, too!
Winners from Park Hill High School will move on to Missouri PTA’s program. Winners at State continue on to the National level. National Reflections winners are announced in May and will be celebrated at National PTA's Convention TBD in June. National PTA then collects and curates the traveling exhibit for the next year.
If you have any questions, please contact PHHS PTA Reflections Chair Karyn Walden-Forrest at karyn.walden@yahoo.com. Submissions are accepted until Thursday, December 1, 2022.
The awards ceremony for our winners will be held in March in a location TBD.
