Standards-Based Report Card Update
We appreciate your input and the hard work of the committee of teachers who have worked on this project. We have started our discussion for the 2016-2017 standards-based report card based on the feedback from classroom teachers, administrators, and parents. In response to the input, we anticipate very minor revisions. We will be reconvening in August and anticipate sharing those changes with you early in the school year.
Your math coaches have been working on an alternative to the Bridges assessment used this year for K-2. Look for information from them when we return in August. It is our hope that administering these assessments provide much needed information for your PLCs as you use the results to guide instruction and decide who may need additional support and enrichment.

Computers, Chromebooks & iPads, Oh My!
Principals, Ed. Services and CCEF have worked hard this year to bring more technology into our elementary schools. It will be exciting to see the many different ways these devices will be used for learning next school year. I am happy to say that all teachers who expressed an interest in the iPad and/or Chromebook Cafè sets for literacy integration before the deadline will be receiving their devices in the Fall. A total of 306 devices were purchased for elementary classroom teachers for use during Guided Reading, Daily 5 and more.
CGI Professional Development
Like the past two years, we will continue to offer our four-day Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) professional development for teachers that have not yet received training (TK-5) beginning with a two-day training. Teachers can choose to participate on August 10 & 11th (extra duty pay) or on September 8 & 9th (Substitute Coverage). Days 3 and 4 of the PD series will happen in November and February respectively. If you are new to CGI and are interested in the summer/August PD opportunity please CLICK HERE.
Continuing Education
Thank you for providing your input and opinions on our Continued Education Input form. With our continued efforts toward "Deeper, Stronger, Better," we look forward to bringing you learning opportunities to grow your comfort and capacity with our current initiatives. Look for opportunities being offered in multiple formats and at different locations beginning in August. You may want to check your district email at the end of each summer month for updates on opportunities that may occur pre-service in August.
