Principal's Message
Dear Dragon Community,
Thank you for attending parent-teacher conferences last week. I appreciated your active involvement in your child’s education. These conferences are a valuable opportunity for us to celebrate your child’s progress and address areas of growth. Please know we are here to support you and your children throughout their educational journey. Your partnership is essential in creating a positive and successful school year.
October was full of so many fun events. We celebrated Halloween with our Trunk-or-Treat, Halloween parade, and Halloween parties. Seeing students in their costumes was a highlight this week! We wrapped up our Jogathon prizes and have had fun reflecting on our beach towel reading, Dragon lunch, movie day, and of course, duct tape!
As we look into November, we are excited to celebrate Schroeder as a National Blue Ribbon School. Mrs. Bolden and I will be attending an award ceremony in Washington D.C. to receive this award. We are so proud of our Dragon community!
Mrs. Keegan
Proud Principal of Schroeder Elementary

Prepare for Cold Weather
Time to prepare for the cold weather and snow ❄️! All students are expected to come to school prepared for outdoor recess. Recess is an important and beneficial time during a child’s day. A warm coat, a hat, gloves, and boots are essential during the cold weather. If a child does not come to school with boots for wet/snowy days, they will play in a small, cleared area on the playground and cannot participate fully in outdoor recess. Also, all students are sent outside, even if they do not bring a hat or gloves. Please send your child prepared for outdoor recess.
Helpful tip: Having an extra pair of socks and pants in your child's backpack or locker will save a call home to parents.
Kaiser Picture Retakes
Pictures were sent home with your child last week. Kaiser Studios will return to Schroeder on Thursday, November 9th to photograph students who were absent on picture day or students who wish to have their pictures retaken. Families who are not satisfied with their child's pictures must bring their complete picture package and a note with reason for needing a retake.
Schroeder Clinic Needs
Thinking about cleaning out some closets? The Schroeder clinic is in need of gently used elastic waist pants for boys (sizes 5 to 12). Thank you!
Bus Evacuation Drill
On November 8th, students who ride school buses will be participating in a quick evacuation drill upon arrival at the school. First Student will be conducting the drill and will provide instructions for proper disembarkation through the back emergency door.
Principal for The Day!
Congratulations to Arianna Bluhm for choosing the Principal for the Day prize from this year's Jogathon! Arianna had a fantastic day! She made an announcement to the whole school, went to the TSD preschool to read to future Dragons, went to lunch with Principal Keegan, and helped with bus duty. Arianna even received a personalized clipboard!
Halloween!
Great day for a parade! Thank you to all the head room parents and the PTO chair, Deanna Fakhouri, who helped make this Halloween a success!
Schroeder PTO Trunk or Treat
Thank you to all the trunk decorators and Schroeder families who braved the cold, rainy weather to help make this year's event special for our students. A special shout out to Dan & Kate Wharton, Mary-Lynn Longsworth, Sarah DeLadurantey, Rachelle Putnam, Nate & Brady Barauskas, and PTO Chairperson Christina Grech for all their hard work with the planning and logistics of the spooky fun night. 🎃
