Holiday Gift Shop Needs Volunteers!
We can still use help with our Holiday Gift Shop December 9 and 10. We need folks to assist students with "shopping" and wrapping gifts, and tear down after the event. Please go to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040b4caca92aa64-north4
to see how you can help!
Classes "earn" Hot Chocolate Party!
The two classes that bring in the most food for the food drive will earn hot chocolate and a story from Mrs. Murphy next Wednesday, December 16! Winners announced December 11.
Food Drive
Cans, boxes, and containers of food line the halls throughout the school. The food drive ends on December 9 and will be picked up by the Elks for delivery to the Oregon Food Bank on December 11. Mrs. Murphy is so impressed with the amount of food that was brought in that we will have a spirit day even though we did not meet our goal - Pajama Day December 16.
Pajama Day December 16
Students have earned a Pajama Day in celebration of their commitment to the food drive. Students may wear their pajamas to school all day on December 16. Pajamas should be clean, modest, and appropriate for classroom wear and outdoor play. Slippers and or bathrobes may be worn in the classroom, but students will need to change into footwear and outerwear appropriate for our rainy weather during recess.
Piano & Band Performances
Our Piano club, led by Mrs. Moradi, is having their recital on Thursday, December 17 2:15-3:00. Our band will also play; later that evening, the band will perform in a combined performance at Glencoe High School.
North Plains in Third Place for District Attendance Contest
The district is sponsoring a friendly attendance contest between schools. We could win a $1,000 prize for our school from the superintendent! In the elementary school division, we are in THIRD PLACE - .04 behind Patterson and Eastwood who are tied for first. There are only 2 weeks left! Congratulations to Mr. McDowall’s class and Mrs. Schneider’s class who had the highest rate of attendance in the month of November.
