Important Dates for Seniors

  • October 1st- FAFSA opened - Check with colleges of interest for priority deadlines for scholarships - as they all vary!!!!!! (link below FAFSA/Scholarship Tip Link has dates for many of the colleges)
  • Senior STUDENT meeting - Thursday, October 11th 4th period (10:50). High School Little Theatre=Topics for Senior meetings: Post Secondary Planning, FAFSA, College Applications, Scholarships, Help days/nights, Resources
  • College Week @ ELC HS - Oct. 29th - Nov. 1st - College related events/activities at the HS
  • College Application Day at ELC - Wed. Oct. 31st 8:00-1:30 (for those who need help or haven't applied)
  • Thurs. Nov. 1st (same evening as Parent/Teacher conferences) - 5-5:30 HS Library - Steve Pelzer presenting to parents on Financial Aid 5:30-7 open work time, Volunteers available to assist students/guardians with FAFSA, applications, anything college related!
  • Monday, Nov. 12th ICAN FAFSA Completion Appointments available from 2-8 pm. To set up your appointment time email Ashley Bonner or call Ashley at 712-362-2659
  • FAFSA Help Session - Wed. Dec. 5th 1-5pm @ Estherville Public Library

5-5:30 Brief meeting on Financial Aid

5:30-7 Help Session = Volunteers will be available to assist parents/students in filling out their FAFSA, college applications, scholarships, etc. See link HERE for what to bring!

FAFSA Completion Event (by appt)

Monday, Nov. 12th, 2-8pm

ICAN - along with the Emmet County Foundation are providing an opportunity for Seniors/Parents to complete the FAFSA with assistance. Appointments are appreciated for this event. Please email to set up a time. Please have your FSA ID completed before attending. HERE is a link of what to bring to complete the FAFSA.

AmeriCorps College Access Coach @ ELC

We welcome Ashley Bonner to ELC! Mrs. Bonner is working in a grant funded position through AmeriCorps. Mrs. Bonner is available to assist students and/or their families with College Planning and Financial Aid. She can assist with FAFSA, College Applications, ACT Registrations and College Planning in general.

Key Resources and Events

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a critical piece of the college going process. You will need an FSA ID number in order to complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA can be completed as early as Oct. 1st of the students 12th grade year.
