Spring Testing Schedule
Seniors:
No state testing, but seniors are expected to attend the "Who's Got a Clue" events at the Sanilac Career Center and the Firebird Theater on Tuesday, April 10 (information below).
Juniors:
This is the most significant grade level for testing. Please make every effort to have students in attendance on these days:
- Tuesday, April 10: SAT Test--testing ends between 1:00-1:30 PM-- Juniors who have a signed permission slip may leave after the testing ends. (The only make-up day for this test is Tuesday, April 24).
- Wednesday, April 11: ACT WorkKeys--testing will end around 11:30 AM -- students will remain in school following testing. (The only make-up day is Wednesday, April 25).
- Thursday, April 12: M-STEP Science and Social Studies--testing will end around 10:00 AM -- students will remain in school following testing (multiple make-up days are possible).
Sophomores:
- Tuesday, April 10: PSAT 10--testing ends around 11:30 AM (the only make-up date is Tuesday, April 24).
Freshmen:
- Tuesday, April 10: PSAT 8/9--testing ends around 11:30 AM (the only make-up date is Tuesday, April 24).
8th Grade:
- Tuesday, April 10: PSAT 8/9--testing ends around 11:30 AM (make-ups will need to occur later in the same week).
- Tuesday, April 17: M-STEP Science and Social Studies--testing ends around 11:45 AM (multiple make-up days are possible).
- Wednesday, April 18: M-STEP Math--testing ends around 11:00 AM (multiple make-up days are possible).
- Thursday, April 19: M-STEP ELA--testing ends around 11:00 AM (multiple make-up days are possible).
7th Grade:
- Tuesday, April 10: PSAT 8/9--testing ends around 11:30 AM (make-ups will need to occur later in the same week).
- Tuesday, May 1: M-STEP ELA--testing ends around 11:00 AM (multiple make-up days are possible).
- Wednesday, May 2: M-STEP Math--testing ends around 11:00 AM (multiple make-up days are possible).

Senior Send-Off: Who's Got a Clue?
Our Seniors will board buses in front of the school around 8:00 AM, and they will be bused back to SHS by 2:50 PM.

Spring Spirit Week!
Lunch & a Book in April
SHS students and staff will celebrate National Library Week with Lunch & A Book in the SHS Library on April 27. In addition to a great "book chat", pop, pizza, veggies and sweets are on the menu for that day for the students who participate.
Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel, will be led by Mrs. Carlson during 1st lunch.
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, by Holly Black, will be led by Mrs. Warczinsky during 2nd lunch.
A Long Walk to Water, by Linda Sue Park, will be led by Miss Kranz during 3rd lunch.
An Amazon gift card will be given away to a lucky winner at each lunch. Books were sold in March for $5.00, but students can still get a book after Spring Break by contacting their English teacher or by seeing Mrs. Wheeler in the SHS library.

Blue Water Folk Society Rising Competition
In what may be a great opportunity for some SHS students, the Rising Stars Music Competition is approaching. Auditions this year will be on April 7th and 14th with the final competition on May 19. Cash prizes totalling $1100 will be awarded.
This event is sponsored by the Blue Water Folk Society as part of their mission to mentor young musicians and to promote live music in the Thumb. There are two age categories: 17 & under and 18-25.
