St Anthony’s School utilises the SEQTA Engage Parent Portal for parents to access student reports for students in Pre-Primary to Year 6 at the end of each semester. If you have not already done so, please log in to SEQTA Engage to ensure you are able to access your child's report.

To do this you need to go to the following site: https://stanthonys.coneqt-p.cathednet.wa.edu.au/ and use your current username and password. This link is also found on the homepage of the school website under Quick Links.

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY, HAVING FUN EACH DAY!”

Our primary focus for the 3+ Program is creating a smooth transition from home to the school environment and ensuring your child feels safe and happy in our care.

Our program is based on The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and aims to encourage children to form new friendships and develop their emotional, social, physical and cognitive skills in preparation for kindergarten.

Activities include singing and dancing, stories and a range of sensory, play based and craft activities. Outdoor play and snack time provide opportunities for socialisation and belonging. The children are encouraged to make their own choices, foster independence and express their creativity as much as possible.

Playgroup

Thank you to all of the families who joined us today. Our spaces are set up to accommodate children from birth to 4 years. We have a large space available for babies which includes play mats, baby toys, books and puzzles. If wet weather is forecast, Playgroup will be held in the school library. Please continue to enter via the Community Centre gate. We look forward to welcoming any new families next week and seeing you all again for more fun!

Faith in Action

This week we have been looking at the spirit of Jesus that is in us all. The spirit of Jesus is something that we can feel in our hearts and see-through other people. If we have the spirit of Jesus in our hearts, then we are:

Kind

Cheerful

Giving

Compassionate

Friendly

Forgiving

Welcoming

Encouraging and thankful

We look at these staff and students and we see the ‘Spirit of Jesus.’

Student Spotlight

Over the last few weeks Aaleyah Chater in 6 Blue has been performing as part of the West Australian Ballet in their production of Alice in Wonderland. The selection process was very competitive and it has been an excellent experience for her participating in such a professional environment. She has also had a lot of fun!

She is now counting down to the Dance World Cup in Europe!

Medical News

Dear Parents/Carers,

I would like to remind you all again to keep any child home that is unwell. This is standard practise.

We have been sending home a large number of children that have either a runny nose, headache, sore throat, persistent cough or an upset stomach. While the child may not have COVID these are all symptoms of the virus, and I would strongly urge you have your child tested, with either a PCR test or a RATs test at home. If positive, then your child needs to isolate for 7 days.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Warmest wishes,

Aleisha Raby

School Nurse

National Simultaneous Storytime

Today the Pre-Primary children walked over to the Wanneroo Library to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime 2022. They listened to three stories, including this year’s NSS story “Family Tree” by Josh Pyke & Ronojoy Ghosh. The children also joined in with songs and actions for each story and got their very own tree to plant at home. We were very proud of all Pre-Primary children and how well they represented our school in our local community.

Kindy News

Wow! This term is really flying by! We have been working very hard in Kindy, learning about lots of fun and interesting things.

In Mathematics, our focus has been on learning shapes and numbers to ten. We have completed many craft activities and played many games that help us to read, write and order numbers. We also sing and dance to jazzy songs that help us remember these important concepts.

The Kindy literacy program this term has us learning many clever things, such as segmenting words, identifying the initial sounds in words, blending and some letter sounds awareness. These are all taught with the help of many exciting books that lead us to extending our vocabulary and discovering facts about interesting topics. These are carried on to our Integrated program, where we continue to explore these topics through art and play experiences.

In Religious Education, we have spent time discussing the importance of our mothers and the special lady chosen by God to be Jesus’ mother, Mary. We were also introduced to the Making Jesus Real philosophy that encourages us to live like Jesus and be kind and loving to others.

We are looking forward to making many more discoveries this term!

St Anthony's New Uniforms 2023

As of 2023, in collaboration with the School Advisory Council, St Anthony's School has decided to introduce a new uniform for students entering Year 1 in 2023. We envisage that by 2025 every student will be in the new uniforms.

Much of the work to update and streamline our school uniform was done in 2019/20, but implementation was deferred due to COVID. In acknowledging rising costs for parents, the students will wear the new uniform all year round. Long pants in Terms 2 and 3 will be optional for boys and girls.

These uniforms will be on display in the office and the quad for the remainder of the term.
