JBD FRIDAY FOCUS
March 22, 2019 "Embrace the Adventure!"
Bingo! Dey Seagulls attend in Record Numbers!
In other news, we are so excited that our new Learning Commons, formerly known as the library, is almost completed and ready for business! The debut of the new space will coincide with the Scholastic Book Fair on April 1st-No April Fool's joke here. :) The new space is bright, cheery, and will house a Maker Space, Innovation Center, cozy areas for students to collaborate and read, with fun, modern, furniture. Mrs. Hardesty and Mrs. Mangum are so happy to get into their new home. These ladies have done an amazing job this year with the mobile library concept and utilizing the old front office as their temporary hub. Even with the inconvenience, the circulation of books was higher than ever before. The JBD community of readers has exploded this year. There is nothing better than seeing our students reading and enjoying books of all types. The only way to become a better reader is to keep reading and read a lot!
Just a reminder, No SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS on Friday, March 29th. This week marks the end of the third quarter-hard to believe. One thing that makes it believable, is seeing the growth and achievement among our students. That doesn't happen over night, and it is the team effort between home and school. Thank you all, for the support and partnership in educating your children.
Have a great week!
