Three Bridges School
September 2018
Character Education Assemblies
Each month, two classes will host an assembly. The entire school will congregate to participate in an assembly where the hosts teach us the character word and how it applies to the Three Bridges students. Mrs. Dauernheim's class accepted the challenge of presenting the very first assembly on Respect. They did a fabulous job explaining how respect is shown in many places and in many ways. October will focus on perseverance.
Respect Assembly - September 2018
Paws for Peace
Each monthly character assembly will have an accompanying calendar of ideas for reinforcing the concepts at home. Please take some time to talk to your child about the word and activities. If the families participate as well, then the learning will be much more meaningful and lasting.
CASEL Five Core Competencies
Teachers and students are working to develop the five competencies during their time in school. These skills are being integrated into the school day through Morning Meeting and infused into the curriculum. As you can imagine, it is a great lesson for our little ones to develop awareness and good decision making. It is a process. Students are learning and growing each day.
Please take some time to review the Social Justice Standards. The concept of personal identity is being celebrated within our diverse school community. It is important that our students learn to appreciate and understand how we are the same and different. And how wonderful that is!
Tigers Doing Good Deeds
Jack, a third grade student, held an iced tea stand at his house in order to raise money for the homeless. With his earnings, Jack bought food for the homeless and delivered it to the food pantry. Jack also donated $20.00 of his own money. Great job, Jack!
Third grade students, Caitlin and Kelly, held a lemonade stand and donated the money to the Flemington Food Pantry. Awesome work, Caitlin and Kelly!
